Any good conversation starters, or have any of you experienced any unique ones? Prey tell :-)

Dont ask......what are you looking for when your profile is 10 million words long!

A conversation starter when approaching someone online is the digital equivalent of what in real life your clothes, your pair of shoes, your teeth, your body shape do. None of them is a "master key". In fact, to a large extent, your goal is not for any of those things to get you in. Your goal is for none if them to screen you out. All you have to do is add a sprinkle of originality, and let your profile do the heavy lifting. Sure, there will always be ladies who find something objectionable in any original profile - too long, too short, too personal, too impersonal. Some of them may metaphorically run a mile from you (possibly the only running they have done in a while), but there's always one or two impossibly sassy and self confident ladies who think: "He' either a d**khead, or brilliant. I am intrigued". They are the specks of gold you are after.
You don't need to break the ice to make it melt.

I have read a profile and considered it carefully, written a well thought out opening greeting including diligently mentioning things they consider of interest in the hope of finding some common ground. Then they have just blocked me without reading my profile. What an amazing place this is. I may as well start with "do you like scooby doo?"

Bing007, sweetie, whoever told you ladies do like an animated rabbit wasn’t talking about the Cebebies version!
Also, any bloke who thinks they are James Bond is delusional!

Best way to break the ice? Overweight polar bear probably.
Seriously though just like most have said just something simple thats open and requires a response greater than yes or no, but not too probing. More importantly anything in reference to their profile as it shows your attentive and genuinely asking to get to know them rather than bulk messaging 'hi how r u?'

I read the profile- look at similar likes. Be polite and respectful. Try and use there name. I sometimes send a joke as ease the situation. Don’t talk about yourself
