How much is too much?
Does anyone else find it drags you down when you are chatting to someone, it's going well, and then they commence to dump their emotional baggage onto you? Complaining about their life choices, their wife/husband, their problems at home, why their partner isn't giving them sex, their kids, their relatives? Particularly when you've not even met? Turn off?

I’ll listen 👂 but I won’t judge
However I won’t engage either. Am not a therapist. This journey is about carving a little escape of laughter 😆 happiness and playfulness 😈
If a guy cannot indulge that and wants to wallop persistently then we are not compatible. Harsh but sadly real 🤷♀️

Mmm. I think if an IE starts to moan non stop about life choices, their spouse, problems at home etc etc, then it's a good insight as to why they're on IE in the first place.
There are those amongst us who are only capable of dwelling on the negatives....I'm not sure why but I feel there must be some comfort for them in wallowing in self pity. No wonder then that they end up here because those around them get fed up and switch off, with the effect being the person seeks out that validation in self pity elsewhere.
If I wanted to listen so someone drone on and on about the same ol' same ol' all day, I'd have stayed at home and not bothered to come on to a place like IE. So would I put up with it with an IE? Not much of it, I'd have to say. Sure, everyone needs to vent once in a while and I'm more than happy with that, in fact I expect some of it. But where it gets to the stage when the life and soul is being sucked out of me, then no....I'd have to cut loose at that point.

If you get to the point where you start sharing more personal stuff like that I’d say the IE is going quite well. I’m looking for something long term where being intimate is more than the physical act, it’s about knowing and supporting each other and feeling comfortable enough to start opening up, so understanding each others lives and motivations is a big part of the process of building a strong relationship.

While it can get a bit serious, I like that someone feels they can open up to me. If I can offer kind words I will. I don't think anything bad about them and sometimes it's just what they need at that time

Life is contrast. I’m in the happy position of living a fortunate life, and I have little to complain about. But if someone needs a friendly ear to vent into then I’m always happy to listen.
I guess it depends on what you’re after. If all you want is a quick knee trembler behind the bike shed then no, not appropriate. If you want to build a connection with someone, if you want a real affair, then you need to be honest with each other. And sometimes that might mean talking about problems.
Of course, if it’s an unmitigated diet of problems then maybe IE isn’t for you - try finding a therapist instead!

Not at all, I’m a good listener so happy to hear it as it shows you more about the person you are IE ing with. I mean if it was 24/7 I’d be a bit peeved but in general wouldn’t be an issue

I personally, find it gives me a better insight to the person I'm messaging. . Sharing I think gives a bond and trust to hopefully take you forwards in your virtual relationship.

This site is meant to be an escape and fun , but sometimes when geting to know someone conversation does just naturally lead in that direction because how do you get to know someone without hearing about their life and views

Doesn't drag me down, just gives me a better insight to their life and reason they are on here.
