Hi,
I am iffing and umming about taking the plunge and having an affair. I've met someone I really like, and now we want to take it to the next level. How can I be sure this is the right thing for me... I've never done anything like this before.

It's been said but whenever you feel it's possible, a good old date. Coffee, wine, an autumnal outdoor meet in a park. Before lockdown a German Market would have been fab.
Online is fine, but you need to see if that spark is there in the real world. That should give you a sense of wherever it is right for you.

It could be better if you wrote your age and gender. I never see online encounters replaces a live date that leads to a decision. Online apps are good to set a date from them, not to encounter a real affair. If you are so young that you're going to your first date, watch youtube tutorials about how to find a direction in live dates. Hey if u're in Glasgow you can opt in to have me as your tutor :D

In all cases there will be regrets.
Going on a date while not being fully ok with it
Or not going at all and still not being fully ok with it.
Being regretful under any scenario if you did/didn't do is the worst feeling ever and having an affair will definitely get all these feelings going in a high tempo!

When it's allowed, have an old fashioned date. Se what the chemistry is like in person... If nothing else you might make a good friend and if its meant to be you have found a very special friend

Weigh up the pros and cons and why you want an affair and if you're prepared to lose everything. I'm sure your partner often knows you're cheating as it becomes a 'tangled web we weave' ..as the poem goes.
