As for chat-up lines? Sure, a cheeky opener like “Are you French? Because Eiffel for you” might get a smile — but trust me, nothing beats making her feel like she’s more than just another message.

My advice? Lead with something real… then follow it up with just enough wit to spark curiosity.

For example:
"You seem like the kind of woman who breaks hearts without meaning to… Should I be worried?" 😏

That way, you’re personal and playful. And if it still doesn’t work? Just blame me. 😂

Just be normal, confident and say hi. I have often approached women and said ‘hi, I thought I’d be sociable and come say hi, my name is xxxx’. Women want to be approached and even if they’re not interested they often say thanks for coming over. Stay away from cheesy lines, it’s bad.

Chat up lines are subjective in my opinion, one man's trash is another man's treasure as they say... Some people find them cheesy whereas a hopeless romantic will find it cute. Read the room and hopefully youl get a reply.

Chat up lines are so passé. They’re supposed to be funny, but all to often they just come off as being a bit tragic.

But a well crafted profile… Some of the ladies here have put real care and thought into those profiles, and even if they don’t match me (too far, I’m too old (or too young), or too something else) they’re great entertainment. Maybe there should be a “best of” page, for the most voted for and finely honed profiles?

Or maybe everyone is now cringing at the thought of being featured in such a way!

Well if you are young enough for the ladies here I am sure yu can find the best words! If you are over 60 resign yourself to your pipe, slippers and cocoa as you wont get much interest!

Look for commonalities between your and their profile and mention them in your message. Keep it relatively short and ask them to read your profile and to message back if they’re interested in finding out more about each other

Chat up lines suitable for IE? Not sure chat up lines work in this realm to be honest.

But if you ever spot someone in a bar or whatever, walk over to her/him and say "my friend over there wants me to ask you if you think I'm good looking". And watch for the double take 😂
