When is it ok to exchange phone numbers?
We've all been chatting on the forum about what makes a good profiles and
initial messaging but when is the best time to give out our phone numbers,
move to another app for messaging or chat on the phone?

Kik in a hidden folder or under an app hider on your phone all the way. The app hider is probably the important part as Kik is a pretty well known app for the IE game!
Phone numbers just sounds way too risky for me.

Modern phones have 2 sim card slots, so get a payg for the 2nd slot. If it goes wrong, bin the Sim.
Saves any awkward questions about having 2 phones

I generally prefer emails or a message ap until after I have met someone. Phone numbers are a pain to change, if things don't work out and depending on how discrete you are trying to be.

The safest way to chat with someone, to get to know them, arrange a neutral safe first meet and start to build trust with one another. I think or I’d like to think most of us are in the same boat here and aren’t looking to destroy other peoples lives! Least I hope not!!!

Completely agree about KIK. Massively off-putting when someone demands to speak on the phone as their second or third message...

But all these 'platforms' have no responsibility. You can make a right twat of yourself and scarper, ghost anyone, dump anyone, just be horrible and eff off.
Its convenient because you think it washes the slate clean and you can start anew wreaking havoc where ever. Something you'd be careful to avoid if you had some respect and responsibility.
You also become hardened to being disposed of and in turn think nowt of doing it to anyone else.
So some use makes sense, but tempered with a bit if humanity.

KIK is pretty well essential I think. I always use it for a number of reasons. There are no phone numbers involved - so the risk of a stray call or text message is removed.
You can log out of it and if someone finds it on your phone then it's no big deal. Even better is to delete it completely when not in use.
Also remember to deactivate the alerts on it when reinstalling of the thing will light up your phone like a Christmas tree, complete will parade and brass bands.

NEVER!! Simply use Kik to ensure there’s discretion. The temptation for a cheeky text or WhatsApp is too great. And it doesn’t matter if you put your IE under a different name or have the number in your Notes. You’ll do something complacent and be caught out.
I rejected calls to use Kik but I’m a convert as it works. Doesn’t need a number to use it. Delete it when not chatting, install it when you can chat.
Discretion (to being a filth bag) is paramount 😂

I definitely go with whenever you feel comfortable, there are no set rules for this sort of thing
