One for the gents ..
At what age do you think you should stop adding/taking away the extra 5 years. All those guys that are 60 but indicate 55 or the 35.s that become 40 ?

Never lie about your age! Be open and honest. The only person you're deceiving is yourself...

Agree with CK and Exotic Orchid ..
Some can surprise you with their ‘Peter Pan’ genes…but 17 years is pushing the boat out for most….if you are lucky to be blessed at the fountain of youth then I dare say use it to your advantage….. but there are limits to everything… your body might not function in that mode even though you look younger….
As for the delusional idiots that go on dates ‘incognito’ …there is no second date 🤨

Absolutely agree 17 (or even over 10) years is beyond the pale ... 😲

A few personal experiences of this myself where I wouldn’t have known had they not revealed their ages. Some sooner than others. It does sting, especially if you’ve got on well, and we have to decide if the lie outweighs the otherwise wonderful person you have met.
Some people do possess the elixir of youth and can pass off a few years younger. 17 years is a big ask though!

Depends on the lie and why ... if one of the first things they tell you at the meet is their real age and that they had shaved a few years off because most female profiles were looking for men under 50 ... I can live with that when there's a connection and everything else aligns. My personal opinion obviously! 🤷🏻♀️
No doubt there are paragons of virtue here who are so perfect that they have never told any kind of lies even though they are cheating on their other halves. 🤔
Of course experiences like those of Enigma and P99 are a different kettle of fish altogether and such men (or women) are definitely to be avoided and held in disdain.

@Paula99
I could write a book about the dud dates I’ve had from this site 🙄🤷🏼♀️🤣.
There wasn’t any second dates because they had lied about age, body type, smoking… and I’ll leave it there.
Now it’s very much a case of… by all means message me but the first sign of a red flag 🚩
Be it age, body type, smoking etc…
It’s 👋🏻from me.
Also if you have limited availability… why even join the site in the first place?
Who wants to meet up with someone once every 3 months or more 🤷🏼♀️🙄.
Perhaps multiple lovers is the answer after all 🤣 😉

I had a similar experience …like Enigma
We had swapped pictures and chatted for a couple of weeks …..I had no reason to think he was anything but his pictures …when I met him I was gobsmacked …..I was sitting in the pub and this guy came over and sat down …my face must have been a giveaway …he was totally different as far as going to say he was in disguise and a very good one at that 😂

Enigma,
What a stupid man! He expected you to like him after lying about his age by 17 years?! What a waste of your time!
Exotic, s65, it very rarely works if someone lies right at the beginning.
Cheryl, both are as bad as each other, lying about both age or body
I worked with someone who was obese, he lost loads of weight for a surgery. His facial features changed, then he put all the weight back on. He Put his slimmer pictures in Tinder, he got many first dates and not a second. I still remember him saying why don't I get a second date?! 🤦🏻

Under promise and over deliver. It’s not a bad rule of thumb. If you think that you’re a ten in some areas, but only a five in others, rate yourself a five - and let your prospective partner be the judge of how wonderful you are. Your personality, demonstrated here on the forums, will shine through, and you will find someone. And that someone will be delighted when they find that you’re far more than you advertised. If you bullshit then you’ll only be a disappointment when you’re found out - and there’s no recovering from that!

I don’t know which is worse. Significantly lying about your age, or significantly lying about your physical self?
Again, this applies to both genders. Don’t do it.
