Hotels
I'm relatively new to this world.
1) Any tips for booking hotels in London
for a few hours?
and
2) What's the general norm regarding paying for the
hotel (does the man foot the bill or is it split between the two)?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think the man should always pay, well, I do anyway, and treat my lady like a princess.

You'd be amazed at how many men *do* complain about paying under the guise of being "modern" men!!!

I’d usually register a new email address (ie gmail) for booking it, so you don’t accidentally reveal it.
Always best to have the conversation about whether or not you can split it beforehand, right? x

Cannot believe a man complaining about paying. It's a man's duty to protect the womans privacy is it not.

Book it under another name.
Pay for it in cash.
Untraceable.

Most Holiday Inns with conference facilities will let out rooms 9 to 5 or thereabouts.
Payment wise I'm old fashioned enough to take it on.

Dayuse is a great site for finding nice hotels with daytime usage.
Personally I let the guy pay but that’s just me!

In my experience, it's not about booking a place for an hour. If you can't stretch to booking a hotel for the entire evening then what are you doing trying to have an affair? And I'd usually assume that I'm going to pay for it, unless she offers to share the cost. The best scenario (if it is impossible to stayover together) is where you can have an afternoon together and then she can return in the morning for breakfast!
