I once chatted with someone who claimed to be "a successful businessman" (in his 50s) who wanted me to split the hotel bill IF/WHEN things progress ... I am not interested in any man's money BUT I expect the man to pay for the hotel ... especially a Travelodge
which was what he suggested!!!

(to be clear there is nothing wrong with a Travelodge if that is all he can afford but describing himself as a successful businessman and then expecting me to pay half for a Travelodge room ... no way Jose!!!)

I've had someone on a first date want to split the drinks bill, 4 drinks between us. That's going a bit too far isn't it. A huge turn off. Some men need a few lessons in what's gentlemanly behaviour. Though I doubt any man who doesn't know that, is for me.

It seems rather crass for the lady to pay for the hotel room ! .. Personally I wouldn’t dream of it. The only time a woman may pay for a room is if she has hired a male escort ! Period
Any man who expects we go half and half has taken equality too far and trying it on. If there are women out there that feel good about paying for the room, good luck to them . But don’t preach to the rest of us

Dayuse is good news for obvious reasons. Whoever pays, make sure you have a card that is available solely for that purpose (Illicit Encounters). Personally, I insist I pay for everything....call me old fashioned!

As for payment - sorry the guy pays - I am always up front about this (in the past I have paid or gone halves - those days are long gone). I say this from very early on and if it is not for you then you can just pass me by .....

1) I use the DayUse app, but don't discount that some places can be cheap enough to justify taking a normal booking and an early check-in option if both your schedules allow for it.

2) ATM, I pay because I also choose it and logistically, I book it as I'm a lot more protected in terms of accounts etc. I

But what you do should be worked out between yourselves and you should both be happy. In this day and age, at least expect my partner to offer to pay half and have an aversion to those who have that expectation up-front. Despite this, I'm actually happy to pay, but for me, a lack of offer demonstrates a lack of respect at worst or manners at best, but neither are great...

I have had a couple of brief affairs that did involve hotel meets. I always paid as I think that is the right thing to do and saves the lady any awkwardness at check out etc.

There are at least two 'Day Use' hotel websites that offer exactly that!
