My IE said that she coped with the affair by 'compartmentalising' it all. She had her life with me. She would box it up when she left and go back to her normal day day routine

I think, "successful" on IE will be different to every member, and look different with every Encounter they have.
I have met some beautiful people along the journey.
-have had passionate illicit Encounters with individuals,
And been totally swept off my feet by others,
And apparently totally swept others off of theirs..
I don't regret any of those experiences, -some are memorable, some less so, but they all make us more rounded.
I might feel disappointed some of the rubbish discussions on-line with what felt like bots or weirdos that just fizzled out, or the chats with profiles you thought were absolutely stunning and then said no thanks.
But, you have to sort through a little mud to find the Gold...

I think you can go deep but you have to keep it perspective at all times.
Its not real life....but that's the point isnt it.

@ beautiful lover. You're comment of 'its not good for your mental health ' so true. I've had a brief affair with someone who was totally different to what I was originally looking for but in a really refreshing way. He got very serious very quickly and then went deathly quiet with no explanation after 6 months of what I thought was an incredible experience. Note to self...dont get too deep! Fingers well and truly burnt.

I have been lucky enough to have met some lovely individuals on ie.

I do feel that you have a large proportion of those who are just curious and have no intention of entering into an affair, because of this it can be disheartening.

But the rewards of finding that one special person way outweighs all the time spent messaging.

I arrived with no pre conceived ideas of any IE to be.

Any IE who I have been fortunate enough to have a relationship with have all been very different.
When they have reached their natural end, I have missed each one for what we had, I really enjoy it when the friendship can continue.

I do find most are more interested the the concept rather than ever committing. Sadly it’s the same on most sites. But you never know.
