Let one's hair down
Full disclosure: I am genuinely a much happier person to be around since having an affair. I've laughed harder, and been more playful then I have in the last decade. Thanks IE for helping me let my hair down.

I've played the other guy role, how does this keep happening. Not that I'm complaining, the women have always blossomed. I just wish I could connect with someone right now

I agree with most of you.
Yes, we women go through menopause, it is tough, thankfully HRT makes a massive difference to us all.
I do think men do find it hard too.
So many of us have our spouses who are our best mates but we all lack that spice in our lives.
Yes there could be a short lasting honeymoon period with our new lover, however, I strongly believe if you take the time to know someone then that honeymoon period could be everlasting.
I joined this site because something was missing. I didn't expect much. I found someone who makes me happy. We have now been together for a while. Trust me, honeymoon period can last for a long time. Going from strength to strength.
Yes, it is amazing to be able to fall in love and lust again. I wouldn't change it for the world.

My wife and I decided to open our marriage about a month ago after I caught her sexting with a celebrity. We are at the perimenopause stage. We are both more happy now the pressure is off to provide satisfaction on every level. Our own sex life ahs become more exciting and our communication has increased immensely. We are both looking forward to relationships outside of our marriage. However we realise that most people in our age group are probably married, We weren't in a sexless marriage but we had dropped to a routine Saturday night performance. Looking forward to meeting ladies who feel trapped in a sexless or stale marriage, if only to compare notes.

Having an affair doesn’t make you more elated..you still have your work/family stresses …it’s a distraction …a kind of coping mechanism for the rock pathway ahead…
Men/women do this in different ways…certain periods in life dictate this more than ever ..aka menopause/mid life crisis..women go through a bout of mental health when their bodies return what was given in their teens and for the majority it isn’t easy…for men it’s slightly different they decide that that they need sex/intimacy because their bodies are not working like they should do ….but hey are the needs being met in reality…aka distraction?
Having an affair means being emotionally mature and striking a balance so that you can deal with the mental health of general life ….not just to make you happier!
The honeymoon period of excitement and lust in the early stages of your affair soon dies and we get a ‘reality check’..😁
