Location, location, location

If you're not in a position to travel for work, do you limit your search closer to home?

Many people do have affairs because travelling for work (especially to a regular location) makes it easy and tempting. I've done it myself... as much as anything, because the alternative is spending night after night watch TV in your hotel room.

But..... It's not necessarily a 'good' way to conduct an affair. It means the person being 'visited' (the one not travelling for business) has very little say in the matter. They have to patiently wait for the 'traveller' to say when they will be 'visiting'. It creates a one-sided arrangement that can eventually lead to resentment and unhappiness with the situation.

I'm not saying that it can't work but be aware that there are potential problems that can surface after a while.

If you have an IE that works from home or works away then you still need to plan ….not easy for the other half in both cases…

It would be great to do spontaneous meets …unfortunately I have a regular life and it’s not possible….but do I really want to ‘see’ my lover in Tesco….nahhhh not for me ..

I prefer my life to stay private and it hasn’t done me any harm…..so far

An IE said to me at one time …. I feel safe with you … how’s that for a compliment?

It seems to be pretty important location. Bump into or you need to be ‘available’ .. Hmmm whatever we do has to fit in. If you travel whoopee dooo any place any time. The ideal working away . However if you work from home it’s a bit more challenging.

Logistics are pretty much one of the first things and ask. If your’e Brad Pitt and live 100 miles away then logistics really aren’t going to work for me.
I mean if it really was Brad then yes I’d be happy with the 100 miles for a one off :-) but seriously they are so so important. I’ve had many a guy contact me from the other end of the country who don’t see it being a problem!! Instant no for me

@tdim

Chance would be fine thing! Trains are not really a thing up here, thanks Mr Beeching.
Pretty fancy train with champagne in bed...

The Difference is Me - 24 Jun, 2025 - 03:23PM

Why is everyone talking about driving? My very successful IE's involved letting the train take the strain? Maybe it's my hedonistic nature and the thought of getting away from the daily grind and enjoying champagne in bed all day. Now that's my idea of an affair. At the end of the day if you meet the right person then you make it work.

Yes it does matter, my search area is only 4 counties that are reachable under an hour,half hour now back in Cheshire/Manchester but before in the high peak it would have been long drives and not so good roads. I'm only 5 mins away to m60 and m56 or a34 which are great connections.
