What have I learnt?

I have not dated for over 25 years since joining here and it was not what it was like back then and takes some navigating. Made me feel like a fumbling teenager with no idea for a long time.

Life is too short to not try new experiences but you still have to be careful.

there are some really nice people out there who are genuine and also some real idiots of both sexes

I did learn it was possible to unearth parts of my personality with a good partner where I was not sure if it was in my own mind only. That was really nice actually.

We are always searching for something and some time or other we have to be happy with out lot
We are more guarded and cynical.
I have also learned that life is too short to miss the opportunities.
I have come to realise that some folk haven't learned anything...🤔

After enjoying a wonderful illicit relationship with a lady I met here previously which sadly fizzled out during the challenging extended Scottish lockdowns, it’s difficult to break the ice in new chat here without sounding... well, cheesey.
The pleasure and empathy in a passionate affair is beyond compare.

I have learnt that it takes time to understand the rules of engagement. I clearly have that wrong as I am not going to just jump into anything too personal before finding out more about the person. I like to get to know someone before I ramp any conversation up as if it’s just sex without a connection then I don’t see the point.
