Unconventional First Dates
I imagine we've all had to be a little more inventive with first
dates/meets due to the pandemic but I'm curious as to what your most
unconventional date has been; past or present.
Mine was taking someone ice climbing (pre pandemic) but I have been known
to meet someone in a supermarket late at night as they were coming off a
work shift.

A 1st date in which, 30 seconds after meeting you at a classy bar, your [blind] date looks at you sternly and says: "I tend to like a different type of guy. Oh, I have to leave in max half an hour to see a friend".
And then, three hours later, when you say you have to go, she stops giggling and says, surprised: "Already?"

My most unusual first date was being the plus one to a woman daughters wedding and sleeping in the room next to them on the wedding. Very kinky but the mum was hot and she she comfortable so was I

I would tend to agree with this , too close to home and too risky on many levels. Red flag

Swingers club does seem like an odd place to meet - I'm definitely not against it at all, but for a first date I wonder if it sends the wrong signals ?? Each to their own , and what ever works for them 👍

I arranged a meeting once from here from what seemed a lovely lady, we arranged to meet in what I thought was a social club for a drink.
However it turned out to be a swingers club. For a first date, with someone whom I’d only been chatting for, for a day.
I went through with the meet for a drink, and asked why here, apparently it’s a common thing, you can meet in safety, have a drink and if it goes well, there’s places to go to take it further.
I made my excuses and left as it wasn’t for me, plus I was being chatting up by other couples as well, which was worse.
I definitely wouldn’t say no to a place like that, but certainly not first date material lol

I’m sorry but anyone who thinks it’s totally acceptable to meet at the other persons house is a serious red flag for me. People don’t shit on your own doorstep, jeez!

You're right, it was a huge gamble, but it certainly paid off. Luckily I live in a very rural part of the world with very little traffic and neighbours.
I can see it would potentially be more risky for women, and as such I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. Personal safety is paramount. We had been chatting for some weeks and we're both very keen to meet. She obviously thought it was worth the risk.
