Gifts can be a way into conversation, I always reply to a received gift but rarely do I reply to a VK. It amazes me how many men who send a gift then disappear. I’ll thank them or add a relevant comment then they’re gone never to be heard from again!

I do prefer a personal message and not just ‘Hi, want to chat?’

In my opinion, the worst thing is when there is no conversation.
Hi, how are you? I like your profile. And that's it.
Just pleasantries and nothing else. What's that all about? How are you going to figure out if you are missing the best IE ever (lol) if you dont converse really? And VKs. No message, just VK.

For men.. anything..
for women.. I am not sure they will an agreement of what is the best way.. some like gifts. Some like straightforward asking out.. some what consider that rude and too straightforward.. some what want a platonic conversation and other would consider that too boring for them.. and other would prefer a more saucy / sexy approach.. others would consider this a pervert / too forward / rude approach..
trust you can never get it right with women from the first time. Their beauty is in their diversity.. uncertainty ..

Men are too predictable. Drop him a line.. and he’ll spill the beans / take the lead / hit the road..

A woman.. is a bit more delicate and complicated ..
